Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed across the services offered on saklama.com, in accordance with the Turkish Data Protection Law (KVKK) and, where applicable, the GDPR. Our goal is to give you an honest, clear picture: what we collect, why we collect it, and — more importantly — what we can never see.

Data controller

Secret Note contents: we cannot read them

Notes you create with the Secret Note tool are protected by end-to-end encryption:

  • Your note content is encrypted on your device with AES-GCM-256 before it ever leaves your browser.
  • The encryption key lives in the part of the sharing link after the hash (#) sign (the URL fragment). Browsers never transmit this part to the server; the key never reaches us.
  • Our servers only ever store encrypted, meaningless data. We are technically unable to read your note contents, analyze them, or share them with third parties.
  • A note is permanently deleted once the recipient opens it (for one-time notes) or when its lifetime expires.

IP addresses

Your IP address is held only briefly, in server memory only, and solely to prevent abuse (rate limiting). IP addresses are never written to disk, never kept in log files, and never used for any kind of profiling. In-memory records expire on their own after a short time.

Ads and third-party cookies

Google AdSense ads may be shown on guide pages. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve interest-based advertising. These cookies are set and managed by the relevant third parties, not by saklama.com. For details and your choices, see our Cookie Policy. You can continue using the site without accepting advertising cookies.

Visitor statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how often. Google's measurement library is initialized on every page, but its default consent state is "denied": unless you give consent via the cookie banner, no persistent measurement cookie is set and no visit data that could identify you is sent to Google. If you consent, your IP address and browsing behavior are processed by Google. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Data we process and why

  • Encrypted note data: Stored so the note can be delivered to its recipient, until it is read or its lifetime expires.
  • IP address: Processed briefly, in memory only, to prevent abuse.
  • Cookie preference: Your choice in the cookie banner is kept in your device's local storage (localStorage); it is not sent to us.
  • Visit statistics: Processed via Google Analytics for site usage statistics, only if you give consent in the cookie banner.
  • Email correspondence: When you email us, your address and message are processed solely to answer your request.

Your rights

Under the Turkish Data Protection Law (KVKK) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is being processed,
  • Request information about any such processing,
  • Learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose,
  • Know the third parties, domestic or abroad, to whom your data has been transferred,
  • Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data,
  • Request erasure or destruction of your data under the conditions set out in the applicable law,
  • Request that corrections, erasures and destructions be notified to third parties who received the data,
  • Object to a result arising against you from analysis carried out exclusively by automated systems,
  • Claim compensation for damages caused by unlawful processing.
